Welcome to my new course about crazy, extravagant Budapest Gambit! This opening is good for attacking players and full of interesting tactical and dynamical ideas. Also this gambit could become a good surprise for your opponent, because it's quite rare but tricky. I am Nikolai Maevskiy - chess coach since 2016, FIDE master and sport psychologist. When we play Budapest gambit we try avoid closed pawn structure and open position immediately. Our idea is to get initiative in the early opening by pawn sacrifice and create unclear complicated position. This gambit was first time played by Geza Marozy in a tournament in Budapest. That's the origin of his name! So, let's start and play Nf6 now!
