Welcome to my course about Evans Gambit! This opening is good for attacking players and full of interesting tactical and dynamical ideas.
I am Nikolai Maevskiy - chess coach since 2016, FIDE master and sport psychologist.
Modern chess is full of theory, that's why some rare openings can be fresh air and force our opponent to think. In the Evans Gambit, Black has to play carefully - sometimes obvious good-looking moves can lead to bad positions. To defend is harder than to attack. The price of a mistake is higher, and stress helps us to push our opponent into an uncomfortable position. Let's start!
Play pawn to e4.
