Hello everyone! Welcome to our course. I'm Wei Yi, a chess Grandmaster from China. In this course, we'll learn together how to deal with 1.e4 e5. Our choice is the Italian Game — a classic yet constantly evolving opening.
Here's our strategy: We'll start with 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4. After that, against some sidelines, we'll choose the most orthodox approach to crush them, while against main lines such as 3...Bc5 or 3...Nf6, we'll surprise our opponents with some interesting yet highly challenging side variations, catching them off guard.
I'll do my best to help everyone understand the idea and importance behind each move, as well as the main plans and resources for both sides throughout the entire variation.
