I hate playing against the Queen’s Gambit. So, let’s crush any queen’s gambit players with the all-new Albin Countergambit course.

This is the second installment in the “counter-opening” course series, and I am SO excited. On the very first line, you march a pawn down the board UNDERPROMOTE to a KNIGHT to WIN A QUEEN. Like, what???

Available Options

• Default: Shows you the full dialog when redoing a line in learn mode or encountering a new position
• Always Show: Displays the dialog for every move (self-explanatory!)
• Tap to Show: Tap on the dialog box to see the dialog, even for new moves

Drill Mode Hints

You can now ask for hints on Drill mode!

New Stafford Gambit Lines

Added 2 more lines to the Stafford gambit! One of them ends with a promotion 🔥 the other one ends like this lol

Tap to Show Dialog Setting

You can now toggle “tap to show dialog in the settings”. This let’s you hide dialog in Learn mode until you’re ready to see it. Perfect if you want to try moves out yourself before reading the description

Time Trial Leaderboard Reset

We just pushed an all-time Time Trial Reset!

If you play right now you will literally be number 1 😎

The game mode used to be way easier so to make it possible for there to be new records, we’ve decided to reset the all time leaderboard!

Restart Line Feature

You can now restart a line after you complete it!

King’s Indian Defense Course Released

The KID course is OUT. This is by FAR the longest & hardest course yet (35 lines!!), and I couldn’t be more proud to be putting it out. Enjoy!

Copy PGN is now in the settings! You can paste it into any analysis board :)

Toggle Move Sounds

You can now toggle the move sounds!

Leaderboard Reset Timer

Leaderboard now shows hours before reset! Leaderboard now switch to reseting midnight UTC instead of local time

Revisit Learn Mode

You can now revisit learn mode even after you complete a course to get full dialog for the whole course back! Previously, learn mode was disabled after you completed a course

Weekly and Daily Leaderboards

There’s now weekly and daily leaderboards for both drill and time trial mode!

Leaderboard resets every monday and at Midnight

Drill Mode Auto-Undo

Now when you mess up in drill mode, it automatically undoes the incorrect move so you don’t have to press the back button yourself!

Time Trial Line Length Adjustment

In time trial, you get time based on how long the line you completed was!

Let us know in ⁠feedback if this system feels inclear or needs better tuning

Leaderboard Next Score

Added a “next score to beat” indicator on the leaderboard so you know how many more points you need to climb the ranks

Leaderboard now shows you the score of the person right above you as well! This should help you see exactly what score you need to beat to climb up the rankings. Keep pushing to improve your score and climb the leaderboard! 💪

Traxler Counterattack Course Released

Stayed up all night to finish this… the Traxler Counterattack is LIVE!!! This is the biggest & most comprehensive course yet (27 lines!!). So excited for y’all to try it out 🥹 Check it out here!

Time Trial Timer Improvement

The time trials timer now starts when you make your first move (instead of when you enter the game mode)

Auto-Generated Usernames for Leaderboard

Players without usernames in the leaderboard now get auto-generated usernames!

Time Trial Restart Button

You can now restart your time trials run with 1 button, instead of having to leave and come back

Mistake Arrows in Time Trial

Now when you make a mistake in Time Trial, you’ll see an arrow showing you the right move before resetting you to the start

Multiple Checkmate Recognition

Now when you have multiple checkmates in 1, any of them will win you the line!

Piece Capture Tracking

Piece capture tracking is out! You can now see exactly how much material you’re up without counting it yourself

Checkmate Marker

Added a marker for when you checkmate your opponent

1. The UI is tightened up, now there is more space for the dialog AND you get to see what mode & opening you’re on

2. Pinning Chessreps to your homescreen is now officially supported. This gives you an app-like feel & even more screen real estate

Forgot your password? You can now reset it!

Smart Line Selection

Smart line selection is out!! 🎯

Before: Practice mode lines were chosen completely randomly After: Practice mode creates a cohort of lines based on your confidence score, gradually introducing new lines as you master the current ones

The result: Practice mode should feel more intentional. When you get a line wrong, it’ll show up more frequently for you to try again, while lines you’ve mastered will appear less often

Eval Bar Setting Saved

The eval bar setting is now saved between visits! No more toggling it every time

Fullscreen Chessboard

The chessboard now takes up the full screen! See the before/after:

Filter Openings by Color

You can now filter for openings by color

Line Selection Scroll

You can now scroll to select your line in the Select line setting

This makes it easier to navigate through longer opening variations, providing a more intuitive way to choose specific lines for practice.

AI Speed Control

You can now change the speed of AI in drill/time trials

Adjust how quickly the AI responds to your moves, allowing you to practice at your own pace or challenge yourself with faster gameplay.
