Real, unedited words from players who finally made their openings stick with Chessreps.

I downloaded Chessreps last night and worked through 27 lines of The Scotch Game and some of the mastery course. Went to chess app today and forced my opponent to resign in the first match. He literally played the same line the app taught me.
Very impressive, I even canceled my Chessly and Chessable accounts.
I have never had fun learning openings until your site. It is a great achievement and I did not hesitate to pick up an annual membership after just like 15 minutes of trying it.
My trial ends tomorrow and I will be locking in for a year. My elo has risen over 100 points in a week. Cheaper than chessly, just as good it seems!
I downloaded your app last night and I've just been obsessed ever since. I already completely mastered the Sicilian and have been abusing the Drill feature.
It's honestly been one of the more useful tools for my chess training. Openings have always been tough for me since I never found a clean way to drill key lines, but I learned the Italian opening within a few hours, and it helped me finally break an ELO plateau.
I locked down a reliable King's Indian repertoire in about a week. Not just memorizing moves, but understanding the plans.
I really do love the app and I am getting so much better at the openings because of the way that it trains us and makes us do the actual moves. Other opening apps just have you watch the moves.
I've climbed from 350 ELO to 900 ELO since I the day I signed up for Chessreps. (Chessreps was a strong contributor to what feels like quick growth).
Ethan is my GOD... just went from 800 to 1000 in a week 🙂
i just wanted to say hi and thanks for helping me reach 2000 elo in chess! your openings inspire me to continue playing chess and always annihilate kids on chess.com.
love your project, you nailed the one thing most similar ones are missing: it's about repetition/rote and making it fun.
Instead of learning the moves i'm instead understanding the logic which determines the moves, which makes it easier to remember.
I love the site. I've been a queen's gambit opener for several years now and am/was looking for an e4 opening… and chess.com has nothing that compares. Nice work filling the niche.
I've learned three openings in last few days simply by being able to repeat them over and over again. Loving it!
the website looks *incredible*, and learning openings in such an interactive way has been more than engaging. It's a game-changer for building a repertoire, and I'm already feeling the improvement in my play.
I recently participated in a OTB tournament. I learnt the trexler opening from your websites. In my first game, my opponent played the exact same moves that I was taught to counter, from your website. I'm happy to report a that I won that game.
I was so exhausted watching chess.com videos at 1.5x speed when I just wanted to practice the opening. And I found the studies on lichess were just a bit all over the place. I just wanted...well reps for practice!
I (1962 Fide) played in 3rd. league against more experienced player (2009 Fide), I had an option of 3 possible players that I might play against, one of them plays KID Samish system, and I was drilling it on your web, you are showing there (for me) new lines. He normally plays 7.Nf3 in this position, which I was preparing for, but I also knew how to react after 7.dxc5.
thank you for this awesome website, it allows me to effectively learn chess openings by practicing them (chess.com does not understand how important it is to practice openings to effectively memorise them)
Chessreps is something I have wanted ever since I first started trying to study openings - the ease of use, the "tweet style" analysis, everything is so perfect.
I immediately appreciated the care that was taken to structure the lines training to first address 'traps' that the opponent consistently falls into and then progressively moving the student towards the more stable lines.
For Black, I play the Caro-Kann. I use Chessreps every day to practice the base 28 or so lines. My win rate is actually higher with Black at the moment.
the site is awesome man! im a shit player but ive raised my ELO to 750 from 600 just doing reps.
Love the app! Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself when I say that I've never learned opening theory so quickly and effectively. I'll have to complete a few more courses and see if there's real impact on the ELO, but I'm definitely impressed. Love the Arena mode and the separation between learn and practice, and the mastery reveal is just perfect. Really impressed!
This app is amazing; I've always dreaded learning openings. I've been spamming chessreps all weekend and have learned my first opening.
I've been hoping someone would create something like this for years now. Honestly they implemented it better than I was imagining. I think this is extremely effective. No more falling asleep while trying to absorb an opening video. The Arena mode puts i...
The app works so well and all the openings are explained perfectly. The way it's taught, the tests you can do on yourself the whole thing. I can finally beat my friends again😂
I've tried so many chess sites over the years and always struggle to get the openings to sink in. Chessreps makes it really easy to get the opening to click.
Just found this site … and it seems to do exactly what I've been looking for … and exactly what I have been frustrated that Chess.com and Chessable can't do.
I had a similar idea to chessreps just never got the idea to realize it into a full blown software; and then I saw chessreps and I was mindblown. What an amazing app, you are solving an actual problem!
chessreps serves as a nice way to ease into an opening, and also as a way of learning interesting trappy side lines that can be hard to find (at least for me) in a lot of other opening-training material.
I really like how i am able to learn opening's by actually playing them out bit by bit vs how chess.com do it.
It's so much more engaging and informative than chess.com.
When I first learned the Englund Gambit on chessreps.com, I thought, "Who in their right mind hangs a bishop on move one? what a utter useless line is this?" 😂 And today… I play the exact same line!
the content is super useful, it's massively helped me learn the Caro Kann and Fried Liver attack.
I really love your website—it helped me learn two openings I've been needing to work on, and I've already noticed the improvement in my games.
i learned the fried liver attack and everyone is falling for it
I like the way the app explains the reasoning behind (most of) the correct moves, as this makes them easier to remember and improves my chess thinking.
I'm new to learning openings, and it helps to be able to run reps over and over and have your little comments on why each move is best. Great work! It's a very satisfying experience on your app.
I'm a humble 600-ish ELO looking to get better at the game, and your site has been a wonderful tool to help understand more about how pieces can play together and be used to devastating effect.
I don't think a single day has gone by that I haven't used it (and had fun doing it too).
Chessreps has been highly helpful to me for opening practice (particularly with the London. I'm confident with a c5 break from black now!)
I'm mainly a King's Gambit player, myself, so it's cool to study up on some opening lines I generally don't play/haven't in a long time. I generally consider myself to be an above average player, but I have zero doubt that I'll be a better player thanks to your app.
The platform is not only active but incredibly well-designed. It's become my go-to for studying, and honestly, I'm hooked. It makes practicing both fun and efficient.
i really appreciate how simple the site is, its just click and learn with only a simple streak counter. perfection of a site well done 👌 will definitely be buying
I love the app this is by far my favorite way to learn chess! Chess.com should take note.
Huge fan of the app, probably the best money I've spent on chess
The little jokes and strategy descriptions help me remember the lines better.
The usability is truly top-notch—intuitive, engaging, and makes the process of learning different openings feel smooth and genuinely enjoyable.
My openings have been static and one dimensional with my game not advancing, so this really helps. Also, this my first actual bit of training for chess and it is so easy to learn and use. I had no idea about London, Kings Gambitt, or just about any other opening, until now.
I really enjoy your Dragon Sicilian variation as it makes games more fun and dynamic compared to French Variation or Taimanov which I used to play before.
Congratulations on this excellent app! It's a lot of fun and it's making it much easier for me to start building my repertoire.
It's really helped me to get an understanding of openings and it helps practice them till it's muscle memory.
I was looking around to see if someone had already built something like what I had in mind when I discovered ChessReps, and I've been hooked ever since. It's exactly what I was looking for, you really did a great job building it.
I think the app is great, not only the concept of the repetition but also the explanations on key ideas behind each approach.
Was glad to see you have Van Geet as Chessable has nothing on these unusual openings.
hit 1400 yesterday thanks to the bishop's opening
using Chessreps has already made me realize how much chess is about understanding plans and critical decisions, not just memorizing openings
i can drill my alapine lines now and stop forgetting them
This app has made chess and chess theory so much more accessible to novices like me.
this app is amazing I lead n a new line every day and it's perfect for studying an opening because I focus on one opening each month.
it is quite fun and useful. I can see immediately the value in repeating the opening practice and getting in the "reps".
this what you found is the greatest page to learn chess debiuts have I ever seen
thank you so much for the chessreps site- it's been a wonderful learning tool and I'm feeling a lot more confident about my openings.
love the app so far! … Yours is very polished and far better than what I would have probably made. I was glad to stumble upon it while looking for opening prep tools!
Really been enjoying the website, its a lot more fun than watching videos and trying to remember them.
I am pushing your site regardless. You have been so professional every time I've reached out and needed help.
I really enjoy practicing on your website. I find it more comfortable than using Chessable.
I never sign up for anything but I signed up for this.
I love the website. I've been super fixated on chess and chessreps allowing me to practice so many different lines and openings is super super cool.
I've absolutely loved the site, especially when I figured out you can make your own courses.
So far this has helped me tremendously to remember some of the key moves in this line. And I am beginning to remember the key patterns much better by doing.
I am really enjoying ChessReps. It is already helping me see patterns and tactics much more clearly.
I love ChessReps. It's amazing. I've been using it every day for over a month now and it's my favorite chess learning app.
really appreciate chess reps its something i was imagining since i was super young and you made it alive and better than i would imagine
I'm a big fan of Chessreps. I've used your website a few times and have noticed significant improvement in a short period.
honestly this is my favorite chess practice website and at a great price!
Chess reps is awesome and I'm learning lots! I made a crude version of this app for my web development class a few years ago and never got around to fleshing it out and making it a fully functioning website, nor did I have lots of chess experience. You made this better than I ever could have! It's so cool to see this be a real thing! (the animations and confetti are epic) Thanks so much for making and maintaining this app =)
I think the UI is fantastic, it's got a super clean feel and I'd be more than happy to be involved in its promotion!
ive tried cr premium and going to get one because i love its spaced rep method
I find your site helpful in teaching openings, diving into many lines of theory for each one, providing reasons for the majority of the moves.
Yeah, and I feel like studying the theory to make a custom course is improving my ability in chess as a whole
It's quite a nice website, I like how the comments seem like a coach talking rather than just explanations
Your site is absolutely amazing, and thanks to it, my chess skills have improved significantly.
Just want to say this is absolutely great! Thank you for this. I paid for the year, deservedly so!
I wanted to let you know this site is amazing! I am enjoying it a lot with the spaced repetition.
I'm a new subscriber, been playing Chessreps for a few days now, and I'm completely hooked. Love it.
these courses have been helpful. I like the way they allow me to practice the opening patterns and know the reasons for why to make the moves.
I started enjoying chess more and with the platform you've developed I can practice every day in a fun manner.
loving my Chessreps trial and will definitely be signing up after
I've been running the Ponziani lately and practicing on the site, it's been a huge help.
it's fun to learn even without necessarily having great ambitions in chess
I think ChessReps is super affordable and totally worth it!
Someone recently mentioned chessreps so I gave it a go, it's been an excellent tool for learning openings.
Based on my first couple hours with a Chessreps trial, I'm loving it!
I already shared the website with all my chess colleagues and they all loved.
Your website is awesome my top favourite to use when learning openings and building up my chess skills.
I liked the simplicity of UI and the way the learning lessons are presented.
I'm learning the scotch game on chess reps right now and I'm loving it!!
Just wanted to give a shoutout. My scotch game has gotten so much better.
mi sto divertendo molto, oltre a imparare. [...] il metodo di apprendimento è davvero buono.
Adding this to some serious puzzle work really enhances my ability to see tactics!
I am enjoying chessreps. I am actually able to have a good win rate too.
I actually really like chess reps, and I mastered many lines using it.
right now im finding the site really enjoyable and im having fun learning many openings and lines!
It's been really helpful in welcoming me to the world of chess and teaching me the basics of my openings.
this app has been a fun way to get me more interested in taking openings seriously.
love the chess reps app !! It helped me a lot in improving thanks to that I gained some rating thank you so much for such a Great app
it's an amazing thing you built and has already improved my game
Really lile the app, awesome UI and super fun to learn. Brought so much more joy to my chess :)
I really love your website. I just started looking into chess openings and this website helped me a lot.
Gotta say, I really do think this is the best website to learn chess ngl
Keep up the good work! I am quite impressed with the speed when fixing bugs and implementing new openings. 😁
I love your Chessreps site; very cool idea and well executed!
Chessreps.com is easily my new most favorite app!
What you have here is amazing. I have been hoocked since I found your site. Chess has always been intriguing to me. Keep me thinking!!!
Really thank you for the great app that improves chess opening especially all possibles lines You can master in no time
Been looking for a good resource to predict openings with, loving it so far.
I think that the website is great and i have already learned a few openings.
Your site is amazing man I trained italian's first 5 lines.
You built a great tool. I really like the Drill function.
Interesting site. I have had some fun so far. Certainly worth the price.
I absolutely love your website. I'll definitely be keeping my subscription after my free trial ends. I've tried books, Lichess studies, Chess.com's "openings" module, etc., but nothing has helped me drill opening theory like your site.
I used to be a 650 rated noob until I started your course on opening theory. Believe me, it helped me a lot. I am now a 1500 player thanks to your Queens Gambit lines, English, and Scotch Game theory.
I suddenly realized: "Wait a moment! This is the Fried Liver Attack!" Immediately recalled the exhaustive practice I had put into the Traxler counterattack, and put it into practice. My opponent got my rook, but only after I had gone down the line of "look at the queenside! It's the same except the queen's color changed". White surrendered a couple turns later, when I replied to their attempt to fork my queenside rook by taking their other rook. I felt like an absolute legend.
Genuinely loving your website, I'm learning the Scotch, the Traxler and the Albin countergambit. The drill mode is so good, all the best responses are really sticking in my head and I'm making leaps and bounds in my chess.com elo.
Your drills are helping me with the openings I use. I dominated a really good player in our local chess club using the Jobava, which I've been studying for two years. Your drills make everything click together.
In one hour of repetition - on one opening - my game improved considerably and I saw myself finding things I didn't see yesterday in middle game play too.
I really enjoy and love the app—it's made learning chess openings so much easier for me compared to other platforms like Chess.com. It's exactly what I've been looking for: a way to rapidly practice multiple lines from different openings, helping with both memorization and deeper understanding of the positions.
I've always found opening study incredibly boring. [But] I downloaded your app last night and I've just been obsessed ever since.
The value for me lies in the 'why' part of each move per variation of the opening. Understanding the structure the opening creates, and why a move would make sense, adds more value than memorizing 60 lines.
I really liked the platform, it is exactly what I was looking for, I stopped playing chess mainly bc i like learning middlegames and endgames but got so bored learning openings but i need openings to keep getting better (about 2000+ in lichess), so finding this was huge, it reignited my love for chess, bc now i can learn openings and focusing on what i love which is middlegame and endgame but not lacking my openings.
I came to Chessreps via your sponsorship of the "iwantcheckmate" channel on YouTube. I love it and have increased my rating by about 100 points.
This site is absolutely amazing, I am gaining so much elo every week. Even if the openings and defenses don't go exactly as planned, they still put me in great positions.
I've tried other platforms in the past like Chessbook, Chessable, Lichess, and several others, but none have impressed me as much as Chessreps.
Just discovered chessreps. It's so useful and fun!! Incredible work! I cannot believe that such a great idea hasn't been implemented in chess.com or lichess. They're opening studies are so boring! 🫩You guys are the pioneers of openings!! 😄
The way openings are explained and trained is incredibly clear and effective, and I genuinely feel that I'm improving thanks to your work. Studying with ChessReps has made my learning process more enjoyable and much more structured.
I've crushed the Vienna gambit opening (loved that one) and the tracker counter which I thought I knew, but actually has way more lines than anticipated. Still training is interesting and fun. It's bringing me back to chess in a way I've never experienced before.
It walks you through opening lines step-by-step with spaced repetition, but here's what hooked me: once you learn the theory, you drill real-game puzzles..the similar positions you'll actually face when you play this opening.
I just started using this tool this morning and blew thru the Vienna and couldn't reach for my wallet fast enough to buy the subscription. Keep up the amazing work
Using the iOS now it's amazing. The arena mode is unreal, exactly what's needed to make openings easier to learn.
The positions Chessreps courses produce are extremely playable and the patterns also emerge more clearly to me now that I have committed so many lines to memory.
your product is excellent. The simplicity and quality give you a real chance to compete with platforms like Chessable or Chessly.
Everyone uses chessable. But the problem with chessable is that you'd have to pick your opening and buy the lesson. chessreps allow you to explore any opening, and hence has a lot of potential, especially if you are looking for what opening is right for you.
Your site is really great. Already moved from 950 to 1100 studying the Scotch and the Caro Cann.
Brilliant resource! In a few days I learned the ponziani opening and started on the Caro Kahn.
It's really easy to use, and it's really useful having all the different lines. On a couple of occasions I'd be playing a line and thinking 'well what if my opponent did that?' And sure enough the next line answered my question.
Thank you for finally giving me the repetitions I'll need to remember opening variations and lines. This is the tool I've been hoping for.
I really, really like your app called "Chessreps". It helped me a lot and I was able to gain back my elo on the first day of using the app!
I really appreciate the jokes and the levity and even though I am a beginner, I see these few lines I've learned in the app and go into a crushing middle game!
I've been a queen's gambit opener for several years now and am/was looking for an e4 opening… and chess.com has nothing that compares.
Chessreps is just so good. It's addictive to keep learning different lines and openings. I became a member today and it feels worth every penny.
for the first time, i was able to not only follow along one of akeems vids, but i'm actually able to call out the lines before he even says it lol chessreps coming in clutch.
I joined ChessReps yesterday as a paying member, and the site/app is excellent! I'm already seeing improvement in my 800 ELO rapid play.
chessreps has really helped me improve my style of chess. These openings has led me to win tournaments and play more challenging people.
I'm learning things I've tried and failed to learn off Youtube and other platforms.
Your content is incredibly valuable — definitely worth much more than $3
The Arena mode is so cool. One of my favorite features here. You think you know an opening well, until you get dunked by a 2000 ELO bot that plays a random weird move
I am a big fan of ChessReps. I have been using it for a few months now, and it is exactly what I was looking for. A place where I can easily learn and practice a bunch of different openings.
I am learning a lot with this app; the combination of practice and drill are perfect for what I need to get the logic of the approaches and be confident in using them.
This website was truly a crucial asset to my understanding of opening repertoire, so my money spent was definitely worthwhile.
Chessreps.com is a website that can teach you pretty much any opening, it walks you through the most popular lines of an opening and explains every move in a very fun and simple way, and it also has a few fun game modes to help you practice that opening.
This website is exactly what I've been looking for. I was pulling my hair out trying to just get reps in for opening practice!
I am so, so God awful at chess, and I'm seeing tons of improvement
I really love your website. It is an excellent tool that makes learning chess both enjoyable and motivating. The different learning modes, especially the drill mode, make it easy to practice regularly and to improve while still having a lot of fun.
Loving Chessreps! I think Chessreps is great for dynamic openings like this that can translate into a variety of aggressive or more positional lines quickly.
Love your site, best place I've found to learn chess. I hear your comments when I see people play certain moves.
I've been busy studying the most important thing that one can ever learn in life; The Fried Liver Variation. ON YOUR IOS APP OFCOURSE! THANKS MY DUDE ITS SO AWESOME!
I am ADDICTED and it's the first thing I do in the morning whilst sipping coffee haha!!!!
Best 30 euros I've ever spent.
this website is absolutely great for chess beginners who dont wanna watch hours of opening explanation which they wont even understand or ppl who are intermediate but dont study more than 3 first moves of an opening
I'll always be part of the Chessreps community! … I love the fact that you keep adding new openings consistently and I learnt so much thank to you!
I've started using chessreps over the last week. It's been great ! I've learnt brand new openings and have been able to apply them to games online.
chessreps has been very useful for me learning the kings Indian. I especially appreciate all the comments and the way everything is explained; funny and helpful.
I love chessreps, I think it's a great platform and it has helped me tremendously understand my openings so thank you for developing such a smooth app.
I love the idea of gamifying the openings and gamifying the process of getting better at chess… that's a real winning idea.
I am totally loving this app. Thinking of all the different tools I had tried to jerry rig in the past to do this exact thing.
What stands out to me the most is how straightforward everything is, and I particularly enjoy the emotional comments—they add a nice touch to the strategies and make the experience more engaging.
no other site has the repetitive memory training.
I'm really enjoying ChessReps! I have an upcoming chess tournament in a couple of months and I need to brush up my openings… I'm especially enjoying the Scandinavian and Albin Countergambit courses atm.
I've struggled to find a source that has easy to learn openings with spaced repetition so this is great.
having a clear idea of why other tempting moves don't work is really helpful for getting opening lines to stick in my head.
I really like the website as an absolute beginner, been grinding reps for hours on end today 💪 have signed up for the yearly subscription.
I really enjoyed the experience of learning my best opening in detail (kings gambit) and on the learn mode i liked the explanations with each move.
they teach me how to play chess but now I beet them 10× in a row
I love it. I use it daily just to drill openings that I'm going to use.
I really like this app, as it is helping me memorize all of these lines like a machine.
the resource you're providing is an incredible bounty for both aspiring new players and players in the mid to high ELOs.
I love your site, its extremely useful and only 34.99 a year is really great pricing!!
I've already shared it with my chess group, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive—they're loving it too!
Chessreps looks nice and refreshing! ... Got tired of chessable already :D
I'm really loving Arena - I had been thinking of writing my own chess thing for just this feature.
I'm just loving chess reps so much, I'm almost finishing the Caro-Kann mastery and it's great!
I learned the King's Gambit much better, and the training experience was excellent.
I subscribed to Chessreps last week and it's a very cool app, already helped me remember some of the crucial lines in my fav openings!
as a long time chess player that started learning openings with MCO 13, love what you're doing with chessreps!
I love love LOVE your app and I'm really enjoying making good progress in my chess games thanks to you.
I absolutely love chessreps and it has already improved my openings
I've been loving the website, it's the most helpful teaching tool that works for me.
I think your product is crazy crazy good. Really clever and I think it's exactly what a lot of people need to make chess more accessible and appealing.
this tool is invaluable! I love it and the layout, responsiveness, and execution are all top tier so far, thank you.
You are doing a very great job with all the lines. Chessreps will not only be best today, it will be the best. Period. 😉
I started using chess reps in August and it's been a great experience so I paid for the year's subscription.
I love the site! I'm working through one of the moves and the drills are great and helping me learn the logic being the moves and how it builds up through different lines.
I just found your website and love it. I'm getting more comfortable with the London system playing white.
Your platform really helped me master some openings 10 out of 10
I really appreciate what you're doing with ChessReps. It's an incredible project, and it has been extremely helpful for my chess improvement.
I have been looking for something like this for a while and finally found it. no one can remember all the lines, but this is perfect because Ill get to practice.
I've really enjoyed the site so far. I def learn by action/doing/repetition, so this is great for me. I've told a few friends about it too.
absolutely love what you created. The simplicity and efficiency just knocks it out of the park for me.
I find out its a lot easier to play the right moves after practising the scenarios on chessreps.
Loving what you've done with the site. The community courses are awesome, I've even made one myself.
I like how each move explains the reason behind the move.
Your platform is really resourceful, convenient and it helps me prepare my opening repertoire.
If even 500 elo Chad can use it it must be easy to understand.
I'm a relative beginner and I still have a lot to learn -- I've already got a lot of value out of the website in the couple weeks I've been a member.
How the heck do you know all of this information about so many openings it's definitely nothing short of impressive
Excited to learn chess. This makes it fun. I was starting to get burned out doing it on my own
I honestly appreciate your work… I'm recommending all of my chess friends to use it.
I love the website and think it's very handy for practicing an opening repertoire.
during practice, and learning, you have quick blurbs about what is going on. Sometimes they're straightforward sometimes they're snarky, it's great.
I HAVE BEEN BINGING UR GAMBITS ON CHESS REPS I LOVE THEM
I'm really fascinated by your amazing website. This web is an opening eyes to how to open any game with smart way of developing pieces.
The teachings have been very helpful to me, and I have grown as a chess player. I sincerely thank you and applaud you for creating such an website, that help learn opening theory.
I find chessreps to be a great tool for learning openings and memorizing moves, it has certainly helped me a lot.
the silly quotes and smoothness of the UI will definitely see me again keep it up.
it's a really impressive platform. I can absolutely see how valuable it is for serious players who want to drill their openings properly.
I enjoy the witty comments in the lessons. Lots of fun and good for my brain.
I have really been enjoying the lessons thus far and I can see this being a helpful tool in leveling up the elo.
Chessreps has been a core part of my day and I couldn't be happier! I love the courses, keep up the good work!
I find your lessons extremely helpful when learning new openings!
This has been a wonderful website, I have been improving so fast ever since I started.
Great product! Loving the practice. Getting better and the site has already helped heaps.
The little time I've already spent on your site is very enjoyable and immensely informative.
I just enjoy your website and it has improved my game immensely.
I really like your casual and sometimes comedic notes during the lessons!
it's by far my favourite UI and I just really like the brand!
Thanks for creating such a fun, dare I say addicting, app.
I like how it drills the moves in to start from the start every time.
Made my first course (anti karo cann) was really lovely to make.
This web and app "chessreps" makes me develop my chess opening quickly .
I think it is really cool. I Love it and i have learnt so much more about opening thanks to you.
I've been loving the site, very intuitive and clear.
The design is nice and clean and overall very easy to navigate. It looks like you put a lot of thought and work into the site.
I think you've built a really solid product.
I had almost given up on the Spanish after 5 years of playing it at an intermediate level, because I thought there was no way to avoid entering the closed variations that lead to positions which I hate and am no good at, until you showed up out of nowhere with the Mackenzie and made me fall in love with the opening again! It's so good and seemingly unknown that I almost want to gatekeep it haha. I used it last Sunday to win a piece against my opponent on the 12th move in a classical game!
I'll never be able to repay you for the profound joy I felt beating my friend Clayton who introduced me to chess (for the first/second/third times all today - in probably two hundred tries over the board in the last year) today, with the lines from the Italian course.
In the last 24 hours I think I've learned one opening (the Vienna) better than all the work I've done over the last few years.
if you've ever tried to learn a new chess opening on Youtube but in every game you load into, nobody plays the right moves or you just get the wrong colour, this website will solve this problem forever.
I had been struggling to break out of 1000 the last year and chessreps got me to 1200 where I stand today.
I've been using the Chessreps trial for the last few days and really enjoyed the Jobava London course, I actually just hit my goal of 1000 Elo using it!
I think Chessreps is brilliant! I'm a relative beginner and find it very difficult to remember opening lines, but by practising with Chessreps I have begun to remember a few and have started to beat my friend, which I rarely did before.
Chessreps is exactly what I was looking for: a fast paced, well made UI that turns memorizing openings into a game.
I've tried a bit of opening practices on chess.com, but don't have the time to study videos. Your format fits me better. And I love that you explain WHY a pawn is pushed (often to open up for the next step). And the progress tracking is solid.
love the tool. Has helped me grow about 200 elo in 2 months.
I started playing chess when I was 5 and have NEVER been able to get myself to study openings until this app, so I'm super excited
Your user interface and usability [is] of the highest standards, in fact this is the first chess product I spent my money on with a smile.
after memorising the 15 lines of the fried liver attack after using the app for literally only 2 days, i got my first chance to use it today!! he played the worst move possible in his position bc low elo. also first game ever with 99% accuracy and an intentional brilliant move!!!
I just signed up for your website, and OH GOD! This is exactly what I've been looking for. I've been wanting to study the Traxler and Scotch (and others), but hadn't found a way that suits my learning style. This is it!
I used to play Giuoco Pianissimo instead of pushing the central pawn because I was afraid. I didn't know what to do in that boring opening and would always lose. Now, equipped with your aggressive repertoire I'm ready to surprise my opponents even though I don't play the lines perfectly and sometimes confuse them.
I'll still try to tell you how AMAZING is your app, your way to teach and I laughed even to loudly for some of your comments (i.e. "now we take this sucker" speaking about a bishop!). Really love your work! And it changed my nooby way of playing!
if I don't have chessreps acc I wouldn't have reached where I am now. I have 1400 elo because of you
I'm a low level player and haven't had much success in learning openings. This is a game changer for me. It is not only helping me learn the openings, but better see tactics I have been working on like looking forward in a chess move, forks, discos etc.
Your way of gamifying the process is really nicely paced and addicting. I also love the humour commentary for each of the moves / opponents moves, really feels like it's reading my mind sometimes (i.e. a piece is hanging during a particular opening - what about that? - But the commentary seems to pretty much always address the big questions).
This is the best rep opening program I've encountered! It's super easy, informative and has some personality.
chessreps is the only site I say has ACTUALLY helped me.
i refuse to use chessable because i wayyy prefer the spaced repetition and fast paced learning on chessreps also ty for the mastery courses, it's helping a lot with an upcoming blitz tournament :)
I also like to say this website is awesome and I have gotten from 850 to 1050 in just 5 days thanks to this.
still enjoying the app, keep up the good work, it's helping me a lot. I've learned more about openings in a month than what I did the past 7 yrs ❤️
The spaced repetition approach applied to chess training is genuinely valuable, and the interface makes structured opening practice much more efficient.
Drilling on Chessreps is as fun as actually playing.
I really love it. I found it particularly helpful when learning a new opening to see the rationale behind the moves. This helps me not only in memorization of openings but in my chess understanding and tactics.
First congrats for the site, great idea and great value. I'm not even a chess.com's subscriber but i took an account here because i felt it was worth it (drill is so good to train)
I've even gotten my chess coach to sign up so we can review positions after lines together and he likes the platform too.
I think the whole idea of the site is brilliant and the implementation is fantastic. The move commentary is particularly inspiring, and some is frankly 'laugh out loud' brilliant.
Really seems like the best chess opening site there is chessable is litteraly sooooo boring.
it is so much better learn it here than look at 1 hour youtube video about theory which you will not remember
Was actually trying to build something similar with the help of Chat GPT because I couldn't find something like this, until I came across your website. Just like the good old days learning for school, just repetition until you know it 90%+.
I receive a lot of questions from viewers about how to improve at chess, and I always recommend your site.
I learned the stafford gambit which worked very well (even the 1600s fall for it!!)
There's so much that they give you, like time drills which helps you instinctually remember your opening so you don't have to think about each and every move.
I love your website. It has not only increased my repertoire of openings and my understanding of opening principles, but also my enjoyment of the game.
I used queens gambit and sicilian to reach 1500 in 7 months
It's become one of my go-to tools for meaningful opening study, and the clarity and structure you've built into the platform really set it apart.
And I can confirm that the Italian lines I've been working on for chessrep have caused havoc in games haha 🔥
Love the app, I'm new to chess and it suits how my brain works/learns exactly rather than watching videos or reading books.
Learning stuff like this isn't natural to me - but you found a way to make me WANT to do it.
The site looks and feels great. I love how personal the commentary is during the line practice. Keep it up! I have learned a lot in just one day.
I do love the tool though! I've always been frustrated to get into a losing position a few moves into a game and didn't want to learn all the moves through reading them. This is a really good way to do it!
I think what you created is awesome, I have never learnt so many lines so easily and it is pretty exciting.
Chessreps is the first chess training service I've used seriously, and I've genuinely noticed improvement in my chess level thanks to your courses and approach.
Chessreps is better than any book I've bought.
The name is spot on—just like in sports, in chess it's all about getting your reps in, and Chessreps makes that possible.
this site has done wonders for my opening knowledge/repertoire.
I really enjoy training on your site, it feels homemade with touches of humor and a personal approach to chess. I discovered your site on social networks and now I'm going to make it part of my daily routine.
just found chess reps a few days ago and enjoyed the free lines so I signed up for more. I think your base idea is great for learning, i.e. very interactive, quizzlike, and drilling/reps structure means I was able to get all 20 lines of Stafford in about two days as someone who has only been playing chess for about a month. So great job on having a good idea and vision and then implementing it.
I subscribed because the Stafford lines and tight feel of the site were absolutely perfect.
Really love the app. I've had it for around a month and have been really impressed by it. The humour, gamification layout have combined for an awesome experience.
it is *AWESOME*, and I am going to be continuing with the annual membership after my trial ends. I can already tell this is going to be a really useful resource.
I love the site. It's such an easy way to learn openings and is perfect for someone like me who loves to memorize patterns.
I'm having a blast with Chessreps, learning was never this enjoyable.
I studied the Ruy Lopez opening and it got me a nice checkmate.
The repetition of the pattern over and over again is helping me to finally memorize the key parts of this line.
I'm a big believer in spaced repetition, and I loved the idea of translating knowledge from other chess courses into a spaced-repetition system.
ChessReps is awesome! I just recently started playing chess for realsies and I found your website VERY helpful for memorizing and practicing openings.
I'm loving this so much y'all! My students are thriving with chessreps!
Now whether I am in "learning" or "practicing" mode I can get all the lines in the several openings I've tried so far. Which believe me is a big improvement over being stuck on just the ones I've completed. Kudos for you team for such fun software.
Love the site, absolutely stunning design and a great place for a chess-newb like myself to learn openings and gambits.
I love all chessrep's drilling features. The UX is better than anything else out there.
I learned my favourite opening and won against all of my friends
I really appreciate the pricing and the humor on the site; it is exactly the kind of opening practice I have been looking for.
Your UX is fantastic and well polished, and I think you provide great value for the price.
I really like the personal outreach. I won't be unsubscribing after the trial.
I have a few opening apps and yours is the best.
your site is absolutely amazing, its a great way to learn openings and develop them at your own pace
Whoever combined the Vienna gambit and Vienna game lines is a legend!
I love the fact that you keep adding new openings consistently and I learnt so much thank to you!
I have been really enjoying the app! I have found it very helpful in learning chess openings, and I love using it during downtime at work!
amazing product. I love it and have been trying to do similar stuff with game review / analysis but failing for years.
I absolutely love this app. I have been using it daily for a month now and it is exactly what I have been looking for to help improve my chess game.
I'm really enjoying learning chess positions and gambits through your platform. It's clear, intuitive, and exactly what I was looking for.
I've had a blast using it so far with immediate improvements in several areas of play.
As a professional UX designer and a mediocre chess player, I am loving chessreps!
I absolutely love ChessReps. The UI is delightful and so smooth to use.
It's brilliant, I'm semi addicted to it at this stage!
j'ai entendu parler de votre application grâce a un tiktokeur français qui a appris le gambi dames grâce à votre application j'ai donc voulu tester et je la trouve parfaite
I really like your platform. It has greatly helped me to become comfortable with my chosen openings.
I like the style and content of the app. Lots of good teaching points and very little fluff.
I just started to use your app and it is so good and well thinked. It is by far thé best way to learn an opening and his variation. Thank you so much for your work.
I'm a huge fan of your work and I have learned many cool openings from your website such as the Scotch game, and the Caro-Kann.
congratulations on developing a great website and app for learning chess openings. It's really very helpful and enjoyable with your sense of humor.
I love chessreps! It has changed the way I think about my game.
I love the website. I've had a subscription for a couple months now and I've recommended it to lots of friends.
I'm enjoying the app, and I have seen great improvement to my opening game.
Loving the website. Your writing style is VERY entertaining and I love the reps idea. I got the repetitions/repertoire double meaning right away.
I really like how I can go into each opening and train the different variations.
Being able to open up in Lichess to continue the study is a great thing. It really helps to understand the continuing moves.
this is the best chess coach ever made so far
The app is so good. I will subscribe again when the time has come for sure!
Enjoying the app so far and think it's a fair price too. The repetition is definitely my style of learning.
I just started the free trial on chessreps. So far, love the website. I'll probably stay for the paid subscription too.
After I learn a line, I can redo the sequence which is super helpful.
I now know many new openings and solidified ones I learned previously!
works perfectly, makes it a lot easier to know when to move to another drill!
I really love Chessreps, I think it's a great way to learn openings in a fun way for a great price.
I love ChessReps, especially the "Drill" feature.
I really like how it helps me learn and remember chess openings. The way your platform is designed makes studying much easier and more enjoyable.
Great work on the website. Very simple, graphically pleasing and instructional. I tried a couple of opening already and I liked it.
I just started learning with your site and really enjoy it so far and the cheeky comments are a very nice touch too!
Thanks very much for making this site. I'm putting it to good use, familiarizing myself with some openings that I really ought to know!
Thank you for this application, which is a valuable tool for chess enthusiasts like me. It makes learning openings much more accessible.
Love your app. The Lichess function is super useful.
Your site is amazing and it's the perfect way for me to learn new openings! Really love it!
you did a great job making this site, I enjoy it a lot, it makes learning chess so much more fun.
I only signed up yesterday, but I am loving the site, as a web developer and a chess learner, I am impressed.
I really like ChessReps and love being able to practice openings efficiently!
I'm enjoying the web-based software now and I have to say it's one of my favorite Chess programs. Nice job on it.
When I signed up for chessreps, I dove right in. The first training was the London and I went through all of the exercises. It was actually fascinating.
You have the snappiest, freshest interface.
The site is very impressive! Glad to subscribe to you and love to see how quickly you add to it
Your site is fantastic! I actually stumbled upon it randomly after watching a YouTube video where Chessreps was mentioned at the end, and I'm really glad I did.
practicing the lines has been very helpful in online games
I really enjoy using [Chessreps], especially for working on openings and automated training.
I'm really enjoying Chessreps and I have recently payed into it becoming a member. Keep up the good work!
it is a great website and it helped me learn the queen gambit
I've been using chess reps for the past 40 or so days and it's been so much fun!
The service is great, and I enjoy the ability to practice my openings
Prior to chess reps I was 1-3 in tournament play. Post chessreps I have 6 wins no losses and 2 draws and I had winning positions in those 2 draws. Your chessreps tutorials work!
I have gained 200 ELO in one month since beginning your courses!
I've been using ChessReps regularly and it's honestly been one of the more useful tools for my chess training. Openings have always been tough for me since I never found a clean way to drill key lines, but I learned the Italian opening within a few hours, and it helped me finally break an ELO plateau.
With very little effort I was able to create a Pirc defense course that covers all of the lines I routinely run into, and further check that (A) the lines are 'engine approved' and (B) correspond to situations that occur with high frequency in actual games.
your chess reps website was very instrumental in helping me achieve first place in my uscf tournament this afternoon.
Chessreps has really helped me improve my game. I went from stuck at 530-630 rapid to above 800 in a week!
I've been playing casually and stuck in a hell of 800-1200 blitz, mostly because I never bothered learning openings - because I HATED doing it. The explanations are always great - sometimes LOL funny, and I just keep replaying lines over and over.
You probably have made the best ever chess-teaching thing in the history of chess. It is beyond better than any book, any freelance coach, any tool out there...
I think I prefer your drills and interface over Lotus (great commentary, feels like a coach opposed to just flash cards).
My ELO jumped from 600 to 800 since I started using this app.
I've been able to retain what I've done up to now without any of the confusion and frustration that chess engines cause me. It's made my learning so much easier when trying new openings and even openings I thought I knew well.
Chessreps is the first thing I push to my audience as a way to get better. Many of my viewers are new to the game or rated below 1000 ELO, and I truly believe your platform is the best way for them to improve.
omg yes I love the Vienna on this site. I have a 70% win rate with it and I'm so thankful too! this is the only site where it's the best most common moves, very rarely am I left out of prep without a huge advantage
I was surprised by the low price. Without flinching I would have easily paid double.
I love how I can just click and repeat until something is perfected, without having to sit through long explanations that can break focus and concentration.
You have a GREAT site. More helpful in learning openings than anything else I've tried.
I gained 350 elo in a week after spamming two openings haha
I learn best from repetition and the drill feature is great - for some reason other sites (chessable) don't make that convenient.
I made a 100% precision checkmate on traxler counterattack yesterday thanks to you.
it's the first time I feel like I'm actually able to learn chess opening without feeling like it's work.
I LOVE YOUR WEBSITE!!!! I wanted to keep it as my secret weapon, but your website is SO GOOD I have been telling all my Chess friends 🙂!
I've broken through the 1100 barrier thanks to a little bit of preparation with the scotch and caro
Having simply completed the learn, practise, and drill modes, I've gained a solid understanding of how it works and the reasoning behind the various lines. It's incredible. It hasn't been boring either, it's been simple, enjoyable and fun.
The site has immensely helped me learn openings such as the Ponziani, which has helped me dunk on many silly, clueless opponents who get utterly baffled by the tactics with the white pieces, as well as the Caro-Kann for black (1500 Rapid).
It walks you through step by step how to play an opening correctly and explains it to you as simply as possible. It will give you a bunch of different lines and variations, and one of my favorite things, once you actually learn the opening you can do puzzles which give different positions you'll find yourself in if you play this certain opening.
I LOVE CHESS REPS. I am exclusively learning Italian game, and Caro Kann in there. The thing that I like about your site is, you give explanation on why certain moves make sense. And that is the key.
I feel like i have searched for exactly this for a long time and never found it. It's the perfect opening practice. Reps and reps of all the different lines. So cool.
One of the great things about chessreps is that you don't have to think about how to build a repertoire, you can just jump in and start practicing.
I love the platform and think it's better than anything out there for really developing my opening.
The Dojo feature in particular does an excellent job at simulating the branching nature of opening theory in actual gameplay.
There are a few community courses but nothing quite as good as your Jobava and Caro courses.
The Free experience really made me appreciate how easy it was to learn openings vs other sites such as chess.com, so I do think the freemium experience works well.
BRUV 35 BUCKS PER YEAR IS SUCH A STEAL
since I have mastered the london. I'm rated about 500 now, when I came to the site I was about 380.
Your Queen's Gambit Accepted / Declined have won me a lot of games so far so I look forward to learning more.
It's only day 2 with Chessreps but I have already memorized so many lines! Great App.
Thanks for the free elo buddy the jobava london lines are goated.
I have been enjoying the openings and the practices which has helped me get much better against many openings ( the italian and sicilian have been winning me games!).
I appreciate the short clear explanations in the speech bubbles. Not having anywhere to play over the board, or someone to teach me and ask questions of is a challenge. Your site has been very helpful to me in my endeavor.
It has been incredibly helpful to have you talk through the "anatomy" of a move... because then I talk through it in my head at the same time, which helps solidify it.
it's the biggest boost I've had in studying openings.
I loved Chessreps, by the way... it's a great platform! I'm the president of the Chess club on my campus, and I'll be sure to recommend it to all my members.
I'm doing the Stafford Gambit (absolutely golden btw) and your comment at the end of the Bishop Guillotine line was absolutely brilliant. I'm laughing so hard, and also now deeply reflecting on my own fleeting humanity....
It's been a game changer for me in terms of learning. I find it so much easier to grasp new openings now. The layout and resources are fantastic and really help things click.
Chessreps is awesome! I've only had it for a few days but it's such a great way to get better, better than doing puzzles in my opinion.
I'm super happy I discovered chessreps, it is a wonderful tool and that is exactly what I find was missing on lichess, so thank you very much for providing this.
I really enjoy your app! It's so much more engaging and informative than chess.com. Overall, it's a great app. I'm very pleased!
In the QGD/QGA course, your commentary helped me understand when and why to enter a line or play a move, and what the goal was/what we were aiming toward.
I love ChessReps. You've done an awesome job with the app, and it's really helped me develop my opening repertoire.
I really love your site! It helped me to study the vienna really deeply. So, I can say I'm prepared.
I've been looking for a way out of stagnation in my chess game at around 1250 on Chess.com and with Chessreps, I think I may have finally found the way.
Chess reps has been amazing not only for my chess but my overall mental health and im thoroughly enjoying improving my lines/rating. Chess reps has been played a big part in my improvement/enjoyment.
I love what you have done with Chessreps. This platform represents everything that I stand for and your constant additions and updates keeps us members always learning new theory.
The price point is perfect and you can really tell that it was made by a person/people that love the game.
congratulations on chessreps! It's such a good tool for learning and demystifying all the many (and I mean many) different openings and strategies to win more games.
This site is everything I could have ever dreamed for learning lines.
learning openings it is really fun i just finish course of sicilian and i can play it better then before
Even passing familiarity is helping me recognize what my opponents are doing and help me think of opportunities on my end.
you can buy a membership for just under 3 dolars a month with the yearly plan which is really cheap for what it offers.
i finally reached my goal elo because of your website
I'm really enjoying the kings indian course so far, and really appreciate the thought you've put into selecting lines with practical attacking chances.
using chess reps honestly helped me get to the point of making good opening moves. I'm not super great at memorizing specific openings but the practice still helps with the intuitive moves 🙂
I love the site! I learned the first actual opening for black, so now I don't just do whatever. I'm definitely going to learn more openings, so great work!!
I am kinda new to chess and really like your website for opening training. It is by far the best I found so far.
I really believe this app has great potential to help players of all levels—not just to memorize openings, but to understand them in a meaningful way. It's also a great tool for beginners who might otherwise feel overwhelmed when starting out.
I love it so far, I'm not the greatest chess player but these openings and strategies have definitely helped me get better! So far I enjoy it, can't wait to continue learning!
just by testing the free version I know that it is incredible and I might soon subscribe given the very low prices you offer.
so far the app is great and that little 10 yr olf red headed boy will not beat me again!
i very much love your platform. (Way better than chessly)
The Site is truly wonderful and it has helped me alot, i really like the way you make me remember moves by making jokes :D
I really love this way of learning lines! The Vienna Gambit Mastery #39 is fun to practice!
I'm loving Chessreps so far! Great UI and I LOVE how each move is explained.
I thought it was such a great idea for a player at my level. Often times I am just running an opening and I am not carefully looking for the common missteps my opponents could be making while I focus on "developing".
you have done an amazing job and i have really improved by using chessreps.
the site and idea are amazing. I am enjoying it very much and my Elo is thankful!!
I really do enjoy your page, it's the best for learning openings in my eyes.
Loving Chess Reps. Just what I needed. I'm still crap but I'm improving thanks to the app.
I liked that one of the messages was like: "If you think 'this would never happen with good players' know that it happened between two 2400 ELO players!" ... I think that humor is a great human touch, please keep it.
I absolutely love this 😍😍 i have been thinking about a tool like this for roughly a year now. This will help me train really fast
You already have an awesome website and concept. Honestly, I might have built it myself if I had not found yours first haha.
it has made chess so much more accessible to me as someone who just started in earnest a year ago.
love the app, just what I needed for opening prep, it's such a useful tool and well worth the money so far
You did a great job with keeping the UI really simple. And I did benefit from drilling the 2 main openings I did in this trial.
This is an excellent app Ethan! It's a very efficient way to learn my openings.
I love your app. Really, I do! This particular learning method suits me more than anything :)
love the platform. This is one of the most efficient ways to drill
I've been using chess reps for almost two weeks now and I've been loving it, and improving so much!
I'm finding Chessreps an extremely valuable tool for practicing opening variations.
I love the personal touches y'all have added to the commentary in the lines.
I Like chessreps pretty much, the concept is very cool and Im convinced of your payed options after my free trial.
i learned the vienna very well through chess reps
your website is the reason why I could improve in chess
I love your website, it's taught me so much and is well worth the money.
I think is one of the best apps for learning openers.
Dude I've just got the yearly subscription and it's helped my games so much
So far I love Chessreps and will probably subscribe for the year after my trial.
I like the format of your site. Openings repetition under a variety of situations is helpful to me.
I really enjoy Chessreps.com really makes it easier to train my openings.
I have done the whole Caro Kann training line, and it is well done.
Thanks again for making such a great and easy website for learning all of the openings in one place!
I recently subscribed to your website, ChessReps, to learn new chess openings, and the website itself is fantastic. Thank you for the effort you put into creating such valuable resources.
I really enjoy the fact that a user has more opportunities to practice many lines, making repetition enhances memory. Very useful app.
I really enjoyed practicing with chessreps. The commentary is hilarious.
So glad I found this program. It is a great way to practice openings over and over.
I really enjoy the clear and simple way in which various openings are explained — thank you for the effort you've put into creating such a helpful resource.
I really appreciate you creating this; it is nicely designed and very practical for my learning style.
I think that the best way to learn an opening is through repetition, as you allow on your site.
I absolutely love the site, its really helpful for a player that has recently gotten back into chess.
I just signed up for a year subscription and I'm loving how I'm learning openings. This works great.
I really loved my experience on the site, it was super easy to use and I learnt more about my favourite openings
I am loving the website. It's great to have something to help me improve, it's easy to navigate and explains everything easily for me to understand.
It has changed my game for the better. I Highly recommend this app.
The dialog is one of the best features of the app. It's so much funnier to read nice dialogs instead of neutral ones
I am in Australia and have been looking to better understand chess openings and this site of yours is brilliant.
It's an extremely useful app that I literally love and I'm glad someone put so much effort into it.🙌
I really enjoy chessreps so far - it's something I was looking for quite long time!
I'm a beginner chess player and I found your platform really good! I was able to learn a lot about some openings.
I enjoy practice on your website, has help me a lot to improve my opening's.
It has already helped me a lot to improve my chess.
I love the website as it is... I like the github activity repo style to show activity.
I love your app chessreps and learning scotch opening + sicilian defense
in my week of use I've found it to be a useful tool for learning my openings
